F.A.Q.s

GENERAL

I’ve heard of these. What are they again?
--Martini® Golf Tees: The only Martini that will improve your driving! And proudly made in the USA (Michigan, to be exact).

How big are they? What are they made of?
--We make four styles and three sizes. Our Original and Step-Up Tees are 3-¼ inches tall. We also make a 2-inch and 2-¾ inch versions of the Original. They’re all made from a proprietary polymer resin created by Cliff Baker, a member of the Plastics Hall of Fame.

Are they "legal"?
--Yes; all four types of Martini Tees have been evaluated by both the USGA (US Golf Association) and the R&A (The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews in Great Britain) and they all conform with the Rules of Golf. They’re “legal” for any tournament and for tracking your handicap.

What’s the Step-Up Tee?
--It’s just like the Original Martini Tee, only with a bump on the shaft for consistent teeing height. When inserted down to the bump the ball sits 1-¾ inches from the ground.

Why do you say “virtually” unbreakable?
--Nothing’s perfect. You may break one after a while. They usually last 40 to 50 rounds; not holes; rounds. The verified record is 200 rounds, but we’re had unofficial reports of people playing the same tee for 300 rounds.

Where did the name “Martini” come from?
--There are a lot of stories out there about how we got our name, most of them involving a ball landing in a martini glass. Truth is, we named it for the shape of the cup. “Martini” is copyrighted not only for golf tees, but also for all golf products.

Isn’t this just some kind of gimmick?
--Oh, no. Martini Tees were used by a PGA pro in the 2011 and 2012 PGA Championship. They’re used by LPGA players on the tour. We have a 4,000 sq ft warehouse and can barely keep them in stock. They’re the real deal.

I have one with no Martini logo! Why is that?
--If it looks like a Martini® but doesn’t say Martini® it’s not a genuine Martini! Most likely it’s a cheap Chinese-made copy of our remarkable tee. Those fakes are not USGA “legal”, they are a violation of our patents, trademarks and copyrights, and they tend to break quickly. Our proprietary polymer resin can't be replicated! You will be disappointed with your fake tee. Only a real Martini will do!

ORDERING

What happened to online ordering?
--We have permanently discontinued selling directly to consumers through our website, so no more online ordering. We are focused on our wholesale customers. There are many pro shops and sporting goods stores that sell our amazing tees, both online and in person.

Do you offer discounts or donations for events?
--We do! Please contact us at [email protected] if you are having an event and we will be happy to work with you! Make sure to include the name and date of the event, and the website (if applicable).

I run a pro shop, how do we open a wholesale account?
--We would love to add your brick and mortar shop to our list of retailers! Please send an email to [email protected] and attach a PDF copy of your state resale certificate (some states call it a "seller's permit" or a "sales tax exemption certificate") and the name and physical address of your shop, and the contact information for the owner/manager of the shop. It also helps to have a few business references from other companies! We look forward to working with you! (Note: we are not adding online-only sellers at this time.)

COOL THINGS ABOUT MARTINI® GOLF TEES

What’s the Martini Twist?
--Our name for tilting the tee toward the pin about 20 degrees. This means when you hit the ball you’re just lifting it right off the cup, and gives you as zero of friction as any tee. And yes; we’ve heard the joke about tilting your tee a half-inch forward will give you an extra half-inch. Just try it. It works a whole lot better than that.

Does the ball really go farther when you use a Martini Tee?
--Yes; yes it does. Surprised us too. We hired an independent laboratory to test Martini tees against wooden tees. You can read more about it here. The results surprised us too.

Am I going to stripe the bottom of my driver with a Martini Tee?
--Nope. They’re safe to use with all your clubs.

I love Martini Tees but they keep flying off and I hold up my whole foursome looking for them.
--Try our new 2¾ inch version. We’re hearing that people are having good results keeping it in the tee box. You might also have better luck finding the pink or orange tees, because they almost glow against green grass!
